The First Worthy Matron was District Deputy Grand Matron Keisha Vasquez and the first Worthy Patron was Past Patron Durant Phillips.
New Hope Chapter No. 2 always worked hard on fundraising, community service and had a Sisterhood and Brotherhood bond which continues today. They were known for putting on their signature fashion show that raised thousands of dollars for scholarships that were given out to our youth and children of the Masonic Members in Hawaii.
The chapter members worked diligently to build their membership in Hawaii and had at least 3 to 4 initiations annually. They realized early on that as we lose members, we have to bring in members.
Today, the chapter continues to work together by retaining members and has seven of the Chartered members still on the books of New Hope Chapter No. 2. We are the largest Chapter in the Prince Hall Grand Chapter, won OES Grand Queen the most in the jurisdiction-total of 7 times and won Chapter of the year several times.
New Hope Chapter No. 2 made history by having two of our Chartered members who are married and served as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron 2009-2010 and has served as the Most Worshipful Grand Master and the Grand Worthy Matron for the Jurisdiction of Hawaii-Joaquin and Cherrieann Diaz.
Today, New Hope Chapter No. 2 has 54 members on rolls. Our current Worthy Matron Andrea Ponder and current Worthy Patron Gerald Mosley, Jr continues the Sisterhood and Brotherhood started by our chartered members back in 2007 as we continue this journey together near and far with our sisters and brothers.
